Is working with kids, in your opinion, just another profession or does it have to be a passion and desire?
I keep hearing on the news about all these horrible women who are babysitters or nannies leaving kids home by themselves or taking one with them and abandoning the others, and I wonder to myself, "why did you take this job if you don't like kids?"
Anyone else have an opinion?

Re: Opinion
Sat, January 15, 2005 - 10:54 PMTo me it's a passion, my mom has done in home daycare since i was young, thats when i knew i wanted to work in the early childhood field. i started babysitting when i was 13 and loved it. After high school i took Early childhood education at the local college and have been working with children now for 7 years.
i am really not sure why some people get in to the child care field, those bad apples really cause so many problems for the good childcare workers out there. I think some people assume that working with children is an easy job, you sit their they play....wow they are so wrong, maybe thats why some people are bad at working with children. i don't know.
